Dear Homeowners and Residents,

Greetings from Al Hamra Utility Billing.

Recent increases in utility charges from providers have raised concerns to all property owners and resident of Al Hamra Village.  It is noteworthy that Al Hamra Real Estate is the single largest property owner at Al Hamra Village and as such the company is affected by the increase in the cost of utility consumption as much as any resident and homeowner. We are empathetic to all such concerns and continue to work hard in making our community not only the best place to live in the northern emirates but one that is affordable, sustainable and offers good value.

Although, you receive your utility bills directly from Al Hamra Real Estate Development, we are not the supplier of utilities, nor do we have any control over rates being levied. We simply receive the total bill, and redistribute individual bills to homes based on actual consumption. This in itself requires resources, technology and manpower at a significant cost to Al Hamra. However, we simply pass the actual cost without any mark up to individual homes.

We have been lobbying the authorities for some time to address this real concern.  Although the utility costs are largely affected by global fuel cost we have been successful in obtaining rebates for July 2014 and August 2014 bills for residential users. Rebates of 6 fils for July bills and 4 fils for the August bills are reflected in your current utility bill.

We will continue our efforts in lobbying relevant authorities and government bodies to secure sufficient power at reasonable rates. It is a known fact that there is a power shortage in the northern emirates and communities such as ours look at all options including private utility providers to power our properties.  We encourage everyone to do their part by conserving energy and looking at ways to reduce the overall utility requirements.
